Presenting this incredible Omega Calatrava from the 1950s with ‘Tropical’ even patination throughout the dial. Note the pumpkin orange of the original hands, which offset the dial perfectly.
The watch carries the classic Omega ‘workhorse’ calibre 265, which has been fully refurbished, using only genuine Omega parts where required. The case-back notes a reference 2495-18, presumed to be the case style number.
The dial is confirmed as original and has not been re-finished or amended in any way. The dial configuration is the rarer ‘3-9-12’ numerals with diamond shaped markers with small seconds dial at 6 o’clock.
The watch is confirmed as entirely original, having been recently refurbished by Nicolas Watch Co. A new genuine blue lizard strap has been added for completeness. The watch is presented in an original Omega box from the same period. Upon purchase, Nicolas Watch Co. will supply a certificate of validation.
This is a chance to own a highly individual sample of the classic Omega Calatrava, so popular throughout the 40s, 50s & 60s.
Viewing is highly recommended and can be arranged by appointment in Central London (Farringdon).
